Advisor Electrical M.Sc / B.Sc electrical energy technology / electrical power
We are now looking for consulting engineers for our electrical power department.
You will work in an interdisciplinary electrical and construction engineering environment with skilled colleagues, where you will carry out the electrical engineering design in the projects. You will be involved in decision-making processes and act as both project manager and team member.
It is an advantage to have experience from the design of electrical installations and facilities, but not a requirement. Students are encouraged to apply. You become part of our electrotechnical environment where we exchange knowledge with each other. It is a busy working environment and you must be willing to work independently at times.
Work assignments
The tasks as a consultant at Jøsok will be varied and exciting:
- Design of electrotechnical installations, including power stations, transformer stations, high-voltage lines, cable systems, earthing systems, connection of wind, solar and hydroelectric power plants and industrial plants
- Network calculations, load flow, short-circuit calculations, dynamic simulation, etc.
- Technical/economic assessment of the transmission system
- Impact assessment for electrical installations
- Project management and follow-up of electrotechnical installations from specification to the finished building
- Preparation of notices and license applications for networks and transformer stations
- Participate in inspections and act as an advisor to our customers
- Quality assurance of others’ work
Current issues and tasks can be:
- Grid connection of hydro, solar and wind power plants
- Follow-up of projects with new power lines and transformer stations
- Design of cable systems and transformer stations for wind power plants
- Project management/ project management
- Follow-up of various projects during construction
Competence / experience
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in electrical energy technology/electric power.
- Good written and oral formulation skills in Norwegian and English
- Preferably experience from a grid company, contractor or consulting engineering firm, but recent graduates are also encouraged to apply

The working language at Jøsok is Norwegian. Our projects require a good understanding of Norwegian regulations and procedures and it is therefore a prerequisite that you are fluent in both written and spoken Norwegian.
