We are now looking for engineers for our departments within civil engineering design of substations and power lines.

With us, you will be part of a strong interdisciplinary environment in electrical power and civil engineering, where you collaborate with skilled colleagues across disciplines. You will be responsible for structural engineering design of substations/connectors and power lines, and participate actively in decision-making processes both as a project manager and team member.

We place great emphasis on experience from the design of electrical installations and facilities, and are looking for someone who is able to translate technical expertise into practical and feasible solutions. Work assignments

Design

  • Design and modeling of steel structures, trusses, compact masts and concrete foundations – from concept to production drawing.
  • Design of complete station facilities, including associated outdoor structures.
  • Design smaller technical buildings in concrete, which will contain transformers and electrical components.
  • Construction of composite masts, nodes, bracing and foundations.
  • Construction of wooden poles, connections, bracing and foundations.

Calculations

  • Static calculations of frames, trusses and other mast structures and foundations.
  • Dimensioning according to Eurocode for wood, steel and concrete, as well as specific standards for masts, substations etc.
  • Load calculations such as short circuit, wind and ice.
  • Route planning and assessment of line-specific challenges such as mast placement and distance requirements.
  • Line calculations and calculation of forces.

Project management

  • Opportunity to work closely with the customer as project manager in own projects.
  • Plan and manage projects from start-up to completion.
  • Ensure progress, quality and good communication internally and with the customer.

Other

  • Opportunity to participate in internal improvement projects, for example: AI, information security, standardization.
  • Opportunity to become a specialist in software or subject area, depending on interest.

Competence / experience

  • Civil engineer/engineer construction technology
  • 2 years of experience from a utility company, contractor or consulting engineering firm
  • Good written and oral formulation skills in Norwegian and English

  • Tekla Structures – 3D modeling
  • Primtech – 3D design of high-voltage systems
  • SAP 2000 + Statica – 3D model calculations
  • PLS-CADD – Mast location, terrain model calculations
  • PLS-POLE – Tree mast modelling
  • PLS-TOWER – Steel mast modelling
  • Visma Project Management – Project management
  • Standard Office program

Knowledge of the above-mentioned or equivalent software is an advantage, but you will receive training where there is a need.
